I also listened to this eBook and finished it yesterday and I have to say it is profound. Dr. Perry explains the neuroscience of trauma really well and at the same time the narration is extremely personal and compassionate. I also love their systemic take on societal issues and how they are intertwined with trauma.

This book did give me new ideas on what’s important to resolve disorders related to traumatic experiences, but overall it’s more focused on understanding where problematic behaviors and sometimes even societal phenomenons come from. What I also take from it though, is that, ideally, many different interventions combined should be used to treat PTSD, and that it doesn’t only matter what interventions to use, but also when. (For example, cognitive therapy can be very helpful, but usually, somatic and relational interventions are necessary before cognitive processing can work for you.) This book helped me look at myself and others through a more compassionate lense and I highly recommend it💕
