Beware - please know what trauma informed means
There are many unqualified persons offering services and calling themselves trauma informed when they are not. So please beware and be sure to understand what trauma informed means. Also ask the service provider, for their trauma training qualifications, ask for the trauma informed principles that they adopt. Here is a brief summary of the principles. Practitioners must undergo theoretical and practical training to be called trauma informed.

Please also ask them in advance what they do to avoid retraumatisation and triggering behaviours. In addition, ask them for how they recognise when someone is triggered and how they care for someone who could be triggered. Make sure you are satisfied with their answers.
Similar to how the word trauma has become misused and abused, trauma informed is also following suit. Please be careful 🙏🏽
