Hello dear community sisters,

A colleague of mine is hosting a weekend workshop from the 3rd - 5th October in Munich together with two other BIPoC facilitators, all about resilience, embodiement & empowerment - for BIPoC and women with migration background.

Some of you might be at a wonderful community retreat at Schloss Leitheim, but I thought I‘d still share here. Especially for single moms it might be interesting as free child care will be organized.

The workshop will mainly happen in german language, that’s why the flyer is also german . But I think English translation is definitely possible!

A few girls here expressed interest in learning how to swing dance (lindy hop, charleston, balboa, shag etc.).

I figured I'd share this since I am also planning to go and explore new styles and see if maybe I want to do another course. Vintage Club has an open day on 14 December from 12-17:15 where you can do 30 minute taster lessons for each style - for free!

As someone who's danced latin, ballroom, and salsa, I can say swing is my absolute favorite. It is very fun and informal and goofy, no outdated stereotypes (anyone can lead or follow), very social with no fixed partners, and not annoyingly flirtatious but very friendly. As a follower it's also nice to get out of your head and learn to be guided by your dance partner, and you still get to be very creative and improvise too :)

Next weekend is supposed to be sunny so I was thinking of doing a circular hike from Starnberg on the 22nd.

The hike is 4h and we can do a break in between. Starnberg is easily accessible by train 🚂

Let me know who‘s interested and i hatch out the details :)
