About the event
Lia Feraren, a Somatic experiencing therapist and our community advisor will guide us in this transformative workshop.
We will begin by learning our unique stress response patterns. Together, we will map out the different states we experience when faced with stress, charting the triggers that can cause us to shift between these states, as well as the resources we can draw upon to navigate these transitions.
We will also delve into polyvagal theory, discovering the role of the vagus nerve and its influence on our emotional regulation and sense of safety. We'll examine the various nervous system states, from the ventral vagal (associated with connection and social engagement) to the sympathetic (fight-or-flight) and dorsal vagal (freeze) stress responses.
Recognising the impact of trauma on our stress response, we will cultivate a deeper understanding of how these experiences can shape our behavioural patterns. Throughout this learning, we will focus on developin…
