About the event
Who did we choose for our first meeting?
We had a several topics and authors in mind already, and decided to pick the self-described "Black, lesbian, feminist, socialist, mother, warrior, poet" Audre Lorde for our next meeting.
She was a writer and activist who dedicated her life to confronting injustice and oppression. We felt her work would be especially meaningful to explore around the upcoming International Women’s Day.
What to do if you want to join the next meeting in March:
Connect to Audre Lorde and her work in a way that speaks to you. It could be through one of her books or essays, her poetry, an interview, an article about her, a podcast, etc. There is plenty of material online as well. The choice is yours. Some of us immediately wanted to know more about her style and her favorite foods, so truly anythng that sparks your curiosity.
