About the event
Many of us were raised in silence around our menstrual cycles meaning no language for pain, no permission to name what was happening. It became normal to battle menstrual cramps.
Some of us have sat in doctors’ offices in a language not our own, trying to explain something we were never given words for in any language.And somewhere along the way, we were told that PMS is just part of being a woman. That the mood swings, the exhaustion, the pain, the brain fog - all of it - is simply something to endure. It became normal. Not because it is, but because no one stopped to ask why it was happening or what our bodies might actually need.
